SUMMARY RECOMMENDATION: Summary Recommendation

Authorize the City Administrator to execute a contract for Yuma Police Storage Facility construction services to the lowest responsive and responsible bidder in the amount of $6,309,361.88 for the base bid to Yuma Valley Contractors, Inc., Yuma, Arizona.  (Engineering - RFB-24-075) (David Wostenberg/Robin R. STRATEGIC OUTCOME:

This item supports the City Council’s strategic outcome of Safe and Prosperous. The construction of the Yuma Police Storage Facility will provide capacity and secure storage ensuring compliance with all state and federal requirements.

 

REPORT:

The project consists of construction of a 21,694 square feet, one-story building with a combination of metal and masonry elements and associated utilities and sitework. A garage space is included, consisting of a prefabricated metal building. An office/work room, high density storage room, bike storage and two service bay areas are included on the masonry building with a fenced impound area. The alternate bid of a pre-engineered metal canopy is not being considered for award as it exceeded the budget limit.
