STRATEGIC OUTCOME:

This project supports the City Council’s strategic outcome of Safe and Prosperous by rehabilitating Reservoir Number 1 to maintain critical City infrastructure and protect the reliability of the community’s water supply.

REPORT:

Tank Number 1 is approximately 20 years old and requires rehabilitation to maintain the integrity of the internal steel surface. The most recent dry inspection report identified deterioration of the rafters, girders, roof plates and roof. If not addressed, this deterioration could lead to corrosion and long-term structural degradation. Rehabilitation of the tank is a necessary corrective measure to extend the service life of the reservoir and maintain water system reliability.

Bids were received from the following two general contractors:

Paso Robles Tank             $2,956,140.00

TMI Coatings                     $3,955,875.00

This project is anticipated to begin on December 7, 2026, and be completed by September 4, 2027.
