SUMMARY RECOMMENDATION: Summary Recommendation
Approve an intergovernmental agreement with United States Border Patrol (USBP)-Yuma for the use of the City of Yuma Public Safety Training Facility. (Police/Support Services) (Tom Garrity)

STRATEGIC OUTCOME:
This intergovernmental agreement is in accordance with the City Council’s Safe and Prosperous and Connected and Engaged Strategic Outcomes. The approved agreement will allow USBP-Yuma to use the City of Yuma Public Safety Training Facility for training of their personnel.
REPORT:
The City of Yuma Public Safety Training Facility is utilized by the Yuma Police Department and the Yuma Fire Department for regular training. The Yuma Police Department and USBP-Yuma have a cooperative working relationship, often collaborating in areas of law enforcement and public safety. USBP-Yuma desires to use the City of Yuma Public Safety Training Facility for the training of sworn peace officers, firefighters, and other personnel.
By adopting this resolution, City Council authorizes the intergovernmental agreement with USBP-Yuma for use of the City of Yuma Public Safety Training Facility.
