STRATEGIC OUTCOME:
Adopting this IGA supports the City Council’s strategic outcome of Respected and Responsible as the primary purpose of the project is the improvement of efficiency of movement, reliability, and safety of the traveling public.
REPORT:
This IGA provides for a Design Concept Report, which includes 30% preliminary design, geotechnical investigation report, and environmental clearance for the construction of 40th Street as a minor arterial roadway, defined as providing service trips of moderate length and offering connectivity to the higher arterial classifications, between the Foothills Community and the City of Yuma (Project). The Project extends along 40th Street from Avenue 6E to Fortuna Road, and will benefit the entire Yuma Community. The Project shall be designed by the City.
Estimated Project design costs are $549,857.00. Design costs and other costs associated with the Project will be paid 80% by the City and 20% by the County, in proportion to length of roadway ownership.

FISCAL IMPACT STATEMENT:
A Design Concept Report for the 40th Street project will have fiscal impact on the city, these costs are required to be able to pursue some of the larger grant funding opportunities that are available for these types of projects.
