Authorize the purchase of access control system hardware, services and installation, as well as subscription renewal from Benson Security, Gilbert, Arizona, utilizing a cooperative purchase agreement for an estimated expenditure of $150,000.00 (Facilities Management-CPA-26-187) (Justin Lewis/Robin R. STRATEGIC OUTCOME:
Access Control systems enhance the security of City facilities by regulating and monitoring entry for authorized personnel and elected officials, while preventing unauthorized access. This supports the City’s commitment to safeguarding public assets and ensuring responsible stewardship of taxpayer funds, which directly aligns with Council’s strategic outcome of a Safe and Prosperous community and Respected and Responsible.
REPORT:
In response to organizational growth, the City will expand its access control system to include the new Police Evidence Storage Facility for $86,475.71, along with several additions across existing City buildings. The City’s current annual cloud-based enterprise access control system subscription fee of $42,890.88 is also due, bringing total expenditures with Benson Security, Inc., to $129,366.59.
To support access control system initiatives for Fiscal Year 2026, staff is requesting approval for an estimated expenditure of $150,000.00 to Benson Security, Inc.
