STRATEGIC OUTCOME:

This item supports the City Council’s strategic outcome of Safe and Prosperous by improving the emergency power systems at the Main Street Water Treatment Facility to operate during electrical power outages.

REPORT:

The Main Street Water Treatment Plant is unable to maintain operations during power outages, and acquiring a Caterpillar XQ125 Portable Generator is essential to ensuring uninterrupted power and continuous plant functionality.

Approving the Empire Power Systems cooperative purchase contract through Sourcewell allows the City to leverage national volume pricing and will ensure that the required equipment is acquired efficiently, cost-effectively, and in alignment with established procurement standards.
