end
STRATEGIC OUTCOME:
This item supports the City Council’s strategic outcome of Respected and Responsible by rejecting the bid, which exceeds the budgeted amount.
REPORT:
Yuma City Code § 36-36 permits the City Council to reject all bids received in response to a solicitation “if it is determined by the Council that such action is taken in the best interests of the City”.
The City produces annual signature events, which contain musical performances, such as the Medjool Date Festival, BBQ & Brew Festival, Tacos & Tunes and Old Town Christmas. These events require a significant amount of audio and lighting production to ensure a professional, quality experience for attendees. The annual budget for production services is $60,000.00.
Staff will refine the scope of work and specifications to maintain the high standard of production while ensuring a value, cost-effective approach. A new solicitation is anticipated to be released May 7, 2024.
Approving this motion will reject the bid received.
