end
STRATEGIC OUTCOME:
Adoption of the 2025 Integrated Multimodal Transportation Master Plan (IMTMP) aligns with City Council’s Safe and Prosperous, and Connected and Engaged strategic outcomes as the Integrated Multimodal Transportation Master Plan provides a planning and development guide for the City of Yuma’s transportation infrastructure for the next 10 years.
REPORT:
In February 2024, the City engaged the services of Kimley-Horn Associates to produce an Integrated Multimodal Transportation Master Plan Master Plan (IMTMP). This work has now been completed, and the plan is ready for adoption.
The IMTMP is a strategic document that guides transportation decisions the City will make related to funding of future infrastructure projects. The IMTMP was developed based on foundational community values and specific policies and expectations outlined in the City of Yuma General Plan (2022).
The IMTMP sets a clear vision by identifying transportation improvements to improve mobility for all modes of transportation for the planning period from 2025 to 2035.
The IMTMP was developed concurrently with the Yuma Metropolitan Planning Organization (YMPO) Long Range Transportation Plan (LRTP) which provides consistency between local and regional planning for the overall future transportation system and for regional air quality conformity. Both plans have a horizon year of 2050.
The IMTMP establishes Near-Term, Mid-Term and Long-Term projects to guide decision making that will result in a multimodal transportation system able to accommodate projected geographic and population growth and provide a safe, equitable and effective transportation system for pedestrians, bicyclists, autos, micromobility, freight, and transit.
