The City Council Retreat provides an opportunity for the Mayor and City Council, along with City
leadership and staff, to continue discussions on City priorities, receive updates on key topics,
and further review and refine the City’s Strategic Plan.
Due to time constraints, not all topics may be addressed. No formal action will be taken, and the
session will not be recorded. Items requiring further discussion or action may be scheduled for a
future City Council meeting.
Breaks will be taken as needed. Lunch will be provided around noon.
CALL TO ORDER
2026 CITY COUNCIL RETREAT DISCUSSION TOPICS:
I. WELCOME AND DAY TWO CHECK-IN
Review of key takeaways from Day One and overview of the Day Two agenda.
II. PRESENTATIONS, UPDATE, AND COUNCIL TOPICS OF INTEREST
Staff will provide presentations, updates, and facilitate discussion on topics which may
include:
• Economic Development
• Annexation
• Public Safety
• Parks Master Plan
• Annual Expenditure Limit
• Heat Readiness & Preparedness
• Work Sessions Scheduling/Format
• Additional Council-identified topics and emerging priorities
III. INFORMAL LUNCH WITH SAN LUIS CITY COUNCIL (no City business will be discussed
and no action will be taken)
