SUMMARY RECOMMENDATION: Summary Recommendation
Authorize the award for Hot and Cold Mix (Asphaltic Concrete) to each of the responsive and responsible bidders a one year contract with the option to renew for four additional one-year periods, one period at a time, depending on the availability of funds and satisfactory performance for an estimated annual expenditure of $236,810.00 with the primary vendor DPE Construction, Yuma, Arizona; and secondary vendor BLT Asphalt, LLC, Yuma, Arizona; (Public Works/Streets - RFB-24-166) (Joel Olea/Robin R. Wilson)

STRATEGIC OUTCOME:
The purchase of these products supports the City Council’s strategic outcome of Respected and Responsible providing necessary material for asphalt road repairs to maintain the City’s infrastructure.
REPORT:
The contract is a necessary commodity for the Public Works Streets Division, and is required on an as-needed basis, for various projects throughout the City.
It is necessary to establish a primary and secondary supplier to eliminate any possibility of not having materials available when required. Both vendor plants are located in Yuma County.
